So far Amplify is my favorite, but I’ve also started using Friendfeed, Tumblr,YourVersion,Plurk,Beebo…mostly experimental right now to find out which fits best with my interests & style. What about you?

I totally agree Dave! I use two not-so-well-known sites pretty regularly:
- OurDoings.com: perfect to share photos in a blog-like structure. You can upload in multiple ways (email, Dropbox, Pixelpipe, Picasa button, …) and they automatically get ordered by date in separate blog entries. You can add a title and a description, plus captions to photos. And if there’s geo info in the exif file, a map will be extracted too.
- MobyPicture.com: apparently like TwitPic, Yfrog and similar, it offers much more. You can post photos, videos and audios in many ways, included several Twitter clients (Seesmic, Tweetdeck, Tweetie, Gravity…), autopost to many services and not just Twitter, include geolocation info and see all your entries on a map that can be easily embedded on any blog/site.
I would also mention Soup.io (aggregator a-la-FriendFeed) and Flavors.me (a one page to embed any other site via RSS): you should see how well they render Amplify! If you want to see them, my username is “flapic” in all of them.
1 month agoDave - I found that amplify filled the gaps. I am still checking out other sites but for now this is where I “live” mostly at the expense of Twitter but also gained a big efficiency bump as a result. Thanks for creating conversation, I’ve really been enjoying your posts.
1 month agomento.info: a social bookmarking tool like delicious, but with a picture/screencap for each bookmark as sell. Your home screen on mento.info shows your contacts latest bookmarks which you can give a plus if you like it, bookmark it as well, or comment on it. It automatically backs up your bookmarks to delicous and can auto-post them to friendfeed as well. The bookmarklet/firefox extension reminds me of the friendfeed one.
1 month agoThanks Dave. Sadly, ironically, oddly, i pretty much don’t use any other social media sites. I study them and learn from them (both the good and the bad), but i hardly use them. I could probably go on forever about why, but i could pretty much some it up as follows (1) facebook: the friends i want to stay in touch with i stay in touch with offline; (2) twitter: i don’t like the 140 limit. use it a bit, but not a huge fan; (3) everything else: i think Amplify covers it pretty well.
1 month agoRT @daveyank Amplify has become one of my favorite up-and-coming social networks. What other social media … http://amplify.com/u/1qb7 [other networking sites I use are Yahoogroups, Clipmarks]
1 month agoNot sure what happened above, but I posted the above Anonymous comment.
1 month agoI love Amplify. It enables conversation around content like nothing else I have seen short of creating a blog (which most consumers will never do). I am excited to watch this platform take off in 2010! A feature I would like to see implemented is aggregating all conversation around a single url… to prevent fragmented conversations on the same url.

Amplify pretty well does it for me, though my posts go to Clipmarks, Diigo and twitter.
For bookmarking I use Delicious and Diigo
I’ve tried Facebook several times before deciding it rapidly becomes too busy, and vacuous.
Used to use Clipmarks, however any apps or whatnot that does not work smoothly from my Chrome browser falls by the wayside
1 month agoChecking some of these out. Flavio, Flavors.me looks pretty sweet…very Vimeo-like interface (maybe because one of their team members is from Vimeo). Going to be taking that one for a spin.
1 month agoRe: http://amplify.com/u/1qb7 @daveyank Nearly all these ones, and YouTube also. Each enrich the others …
1 month agoDave, Flavors.me requires an invite as it’s a private beta. I posted here on Amplify a blog post by Mark Krynsky which include an invite code, try if it still works.
1 month agoFlavio, I did a quick search on Twitter earlier and ended up being able to sign up with invite code “heat.” Thanks much!
1 month agoI have come to really like amplify too. It’s so easy and just there when you need or want to post something fast. Awesome.
